The new Starbucks Reserve Roastery, which opened on December 6th, 2017 in Shanghai, is the first non-U.S. location of a new series of shops designed to offer a more “immersive” experience for coffee lovers, according to Starbucks. The first such roastery, which opened in Seattle in 2014, is about half its size.
Discovery of a Masterpiece, when compared to the hundreds of Starbucks stores open yearly....
Although the second Roastery was opened just three years ago, it goes without saying this mega-store is Starbucks' treasure trove.... a super cavern to warmly explore eagerly.
Chairman of the Board of Directors of Starbucks Coffee Company, former Global CEO Howard Schultz and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Alibaba Group, Jack Ma graced the opening ceremony.
Now, as part of the company’s aggressive expansion in China, the Seattle-based coffee retailer opened its largest store in the world: The new Starbucks Reserve Roastery , a nearly 2,700-square-meter mega coffee themed store that does much more than simply serve coffee and is touted as being a luxury version of the regular standard Starbuck stores and includes three coffee bars serving brews made from beans grown in China’s Pu’er in Yunnan Province. A two-story, 40-ton copper cask towers over the store, refilling the coffee bars’ various silos as well as having open concept themed bakery kitchens, souvenir items for sale at various locations.
The opening day at the Starbucks Reserve Roastery, long lines of coffee lovers and tourists arrived early queuing to enter the doors at the mega store in HKRI in the heart of the city of Shanghai.
To ensure the safety during the opening day, China Cityguard Security Group being elected as the security service partner for Starbucks in China provided a full team of experienced professional security officers.
With non-stop visitors streaming and making the queue endless, the opening day proved a challenging day for everyone as China Cityguard officers who provided warm but secure measures while reminding the visitors that the wait time was averaging 1 hour to enter the store as Shanghai just experienced its first day of cold "official winter" temperatures.
